We pay tribute to John Cameron's ex LNER K4 61994 The Great Marquess.

I gathered up a collection of some of the best film shots I have taken of 61994 over the last 5 years during her very last boiler ticket.

A gd variety of the loco in action from being seen on the mainline to the K4's final week in steam on The North Yorkshire Moors Railway.

Mostly during my time of filming The Great Marquess on the national network was on the West Coast Mainline between Crewe & Oxenholme Lake District.

We see 61994 haul a variety of charter trains including The Welsh Mountaineer during the summers of 2013 & 2014, The Fellsman during the summer of 2013 & Day 1 of The West Highlander in September 2014.

A top & tail encounter at Carnforth with NELPG's K1 62005 when they headed off to The North Yorkshire Moors Railway in early March 2015.

We board 61994 on what was the loco's very last steam charter run while working top & tail with 62005 on The Wensleydale & Durham Coast trip in late March 2015.

The K4's final weeks in steam was on The North Yorkshire Moors Railway during mid October in 2015.

We see 61994 from different areas on the line from the Motive Power Depot at Grosmont & lineside shots.

My very last proper hauling behind the 61994 The Great Marquess came during my holiday at The North Yorkshire Moors Railway from Grosmont to Pickering.

Sadly a few days after the NYMR shots were taken a crack in her firebox was discovered & was retired from service & was stored at Grosmont for the best part of 2 years.

The decision was made by the K4's owner John Cameron that the loco along with A4 60009 Union of South Africa from July 2019 will be museum pieces in Fife Scotland.

The K4 as of September 2017 is on display at The Scottish Railway Preservation Society in Boness for 2 years until The Cameron Railway Trust's own Museum is ready.

The K4 will be sadly missed from the mainline & on heritage railways. The K4 was 1 of the best steam locos in action putting in fine performances.
