Rituals used to play an important role in traditional Chinese society. The performance of rituals embodied Confucian doctrines and was an indispensable tool in maintaining the socio-political order. This lecture gives an introduction to different types of rituals and how they represented and reinforced Confucian socio-ethical values.
Yuyu Liu is an associate professor from Sun Yat-sen University, China. She received her Ph.D. in comparative philosophy from Sun Yat-sen University.
