The NYPD reported 180 arrests citywide after Wednesday night's curfew went into effect and George Floyd protesters refused to go home.
That included a tense scene in Cadman Plaza Park witnessed by Public Advocate Jumaane Williams, as well another scene on the Upper East Side.
Police moved in just after 9 p.m., an hour after the citywide curfew had gone into effect.
Peaceful protesters refusing police orders were shoved, and some were hit with batons. At times police used tactics like pepper spray that had brought outrage previously.
Many got arrested.
