Moonlight director Barry Jenkins spoke to Sky News on the 'progress' of the industry as he prepares to release his next film.
The 40-year-old says he wrote 'If Beale Street Could Talk' in 10 weeks whereas Moonlight was written in days.
When asked about industry 'diversity', he responded by saying that its a 'direction not a destination'.
He added: "You have to keep checking in, three years...five years from now to see if the progress we feel we see in the present day has taken hold."
'If Beale Street Could Talk' is in cinemas now
