The commission on revenue allocation says county governments will have to seek alternative sources of funding to sustain their operations after parliament allocated 9.8 billion shillings to run the county governments until the passing of the next budget in June. Nairobi which is the leading revenue generating county is able to meet only 45% of its budget through revenue collected from local sources a factor that may see most counties suffer from funding shortfalls.
