Violence reported in Asansol where bypoll election is underway necessitated after Babul Supriyo resigned as the MP after switching over to the TMC from the BJP. Agnimitra Paul, who is BJP candidate for the seat alleged that the TMC goons attacked her car with bamboo sticks, pelted stones and ransacked it. She also accused the police of not taking any action.
