Liliane Lijn is recognised as an early pioneer of science in art and is currently the artist in residence at Narec (New and Renewable Energy Centre) with Inspire Northumberland. She discusses her work with new technologies from the 1960s onwards, and screens the world premiere of her new single-screen video Art Science (2010). Much of the material comes from the artist's interviews with scientists at the Space Science Laboratory at the University of California, Berkeley during her 2005 Arts Council England NASA residency. Lijn interleaves scientific ideas with her own visual practice to question the distance between art and science.
