Fifty people were evacuated from a block of flats on Inglewood Road, West Hampstead after a fire erupted in the early hours of Thursday morning. The London Fire Brigade said 15 engines were at the scene after being called just after 1am. The blaze began on the fourth floor and it took firefighters around four hours to get the flames under control, as officials said it was difficult to access such an old building. No one needed hospital treatment after the fire, London Ambulance Service said. Pictures posted on social media showed the blaze visible for miles.
