2 things every Producer / Artist should do right NOW to start their business - FREE!!

These are the two things a ask every producer and artist i work with to set up in order to start running their business and make money! All for Free!

1st Step:

Get yourself a PRO (Performance Right Organization). A PRO is the company that will collect all your royalties! If your music ever makes to a TV show, Radio, big DJ set, TV ads... You will need one in order to collect the royalties! So might as well set this up now!
For the USA there are two main companies: BMI and ASCAP.

Do some research and find out which one is best for you. There isn't that much difference between the two (maybe payment periods are different...). The main difference I know is that BMI is entirely Free! So I have a BMI account and register all my songs with them.

2nd step:

Sync Licensing,. Whether you are a band, a Producer or any musical Artist, you need to start looking into Music Licensing. You can get your songs on TV shows, ads, video games, in-store radios... These opportunities offer upfront pay and backend royalties! This is a very important sector of the music industry!
