Nissan has unveiled the new Skyline Nismo, which will be launched in Japan this September. Only 1,000 units of the performance sedan will be offered, of which 100 units are Limited versions that will go on sale next summer.

the Skyline gets specially developed NISMO bumpers and side sill covers with distinctive red accents, as well as NISMO-exclusive foglamps and NISMO logos around the car.

This was done not just to enhance the look of the Skyline, but to also improve its aerodynamics. Furthermore, the body enhancements were also made to optimize airflow to both the radiator and oil cooler for better cooling performance especially in extended high-speed and track driving.

Inside, the Skyline NISMO has an interior designed for grand touring, ensuring high levels of comfort but at the same time keeping occupants in place during high-speed applications. The cockpit features a leather-wrapped steering wheel with the usual NISMO red center mark.

The instrument cluster has also been revised and now features a 280 km/h speedometer with a red-ringed, NISMO-branded tachometer. Lastly, the Skyline NISMO gets Recaro sports seats, much like the all-new Z NISMO that was launched just recently.

Nismo also fine-tuned the suspension to help the Skyline go around bends even better. The upgraded springs, dampers, and stabilizers are complemented by wider tires. Those tires then wrap around a set of lightweight, 19-inch Enkei wheels. Also upgraded in the Skyline Nismo are the brakes. The anti-lock system has been recalibrated, and the brake pads use a friction material with enhanced fade-resistance properties.

the most powerful variant of the Skyline sedan called the 400R shares the same 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 engine with the all-new Z Nismo. That is carried over to the Skyline NISMO, but it even produces more torque than what's underneath the hood of the all-new Z NISMO. The 3.0-liter, twin-turbo V6 engine in the Skyline NISMO makes 420 PS and 550 Nm of torque, sending power to the rear wheels via a 7-speed automatic transmission.

Japanese pricing for the Skyline Nismo kicks off from $54,692 and tops out at $66,111 for the Nismo Limited.
