The most expensive painting to ever be sold.
A 500-year-old painting by Leonardo da Vinci sold for 450-million U.S. dollars on Wednesday,... after a 20-minute bidding war.
Christie's auction house says it's the only painting by Leonardo da Vinci in a private collection.
Titled "Salvator Mundi," or the "Savior of the World," the painting depicts Jesus Christ dressed in flowing robes and holding a crystal orb.
It was sold by a Russian billionaire who bought the piece in 2013 for 127-and-a-half million dollars.
The buyer's details haven't been released.
The previous record was Pablo Picasso's "Women of Algiers," which sold for 179 million dollars in 2015.
