TOR-M2 Russian Short-Range Air defense System
When it comes to hi tech Russian short range air defense systems, then TOR is among the few. This is TOR M2 an upgraded variant of TOR M1. It is only short range system that launches it missiles vertically to cover 360 degree. It is designed to attack aircraft, helicopters, aerodynamic UAVs, guided missiles and other components of high precision weapons flying at medium, low and extremely low altitudes in adverse air and jamming environment. The system can be mounted on wheeled or tracked chassis. The new system can engage four targets simultaneously, and Tor M2E is an export variant. Tor M2K is a system mounted on wheeled platform, like others it can also carry 8 missiles.
