In May 2015, Armenia Fund unveiled several newly built community centers in Karabakh, including those of Patara and Shosh, villages in the republic’s Askeran Region.
The construction of both community centers was made possible by the financial support of the fund’s French affiliate, with additional support from the government of Karabakh. Each of the two community centers encompasses a mayor’s office, a medical clinic, a library, a computer room, and an events hall.
The opening ceremonies were attended by members of Armenia Fund’s Board of Trustees and representatives of its affiliates worldwide.
Another project in Shosh, the community school, which was built with the sponsorship of Armenia Fund’s Toronto, Canada, affiliate in 2004, enjoys the continued support of Toronto Armenians. In early 2015, the campus underwent extensive renovations.
