【George Town City】Street Stories: Muntri Street
Muntri Street or Lebuh Muntri is a street that may have been named after the Mentri of Larut, Ngah Ibrahim, son of Long Jaafar. Hence, Muntri is the old word for Mentri. However, some locals mentioned that Muntri was actually referred to the high ranking colonial officials that stayed in Leith Street and Muntri Street.
