Ajmer Singh Randhawa S/O Salwinder Singh Randhawa
Grandfather- Chanan Singh Great Grandfather- Mehan Singh
THEIR original pind in india was Veela Teja near Fatehgarh Churian. My great Grandparents (padh dadaji) Sardar Mehan Singh Randhawa moved to Pakistan (British india) along with lot of shrika baradari. Wahila Kalan (Chak 260) was jungle at that time, British Government at that time allotted 1 muraba to each gabroo under 25 years of age, so they cut the first and made it to farmland, they named this pind Wahila Kalan to their orignal pind in india, eh pind saade sare sheeraka baradari ne banaya c, there was all jungle here before, my grandfather (Sardar Chanan Singh Randhawa) was born here. Chanan Singh and Kunan Singh were 2 brothers.
I was 18 years old when I moved to California with my Family, and my Grandfather was already there, he died back in 2010 and 1 year before his death he narrated all that incident to me, how they left their home, he was around 25 year old married with 1 daughter, the Kafila got stuck on their way to India and his wife and daughter died on their way to india, with nothing left behind and nowhere to go they were so strong and did not loose hope, they came back and settled in Village Badowal Khurd, Ramdas Road, Dist Gurdaspur he cried narrating all this incident, this whole thing got stuck in my mind (dadaji remarried again in India and we are from his 2nd marriage) ever since that day I wanted to visit Pakistan and see where he was born and grew up and where my forefathers plough their sweat
Finally got chance to visit Pakistan March 2023, we only knew the name of pind but did not know the exact location, we asked/dig more into and with the help of locals and Nasir Dhillon Saab from Leher Punjabi TV got the chance to visit our ancestral Pind Wahila Kalan
3 generations- My dad, me and my son Nadar
Visited Wahila Kalan along with Nasir Dhillon paji, I have never ever experienced such an emotional and Joyous moment in my life, it was like a dream come true thing, hearing about my forefathers from Wahila people made me so proud and felt I have accomplished my dream of visiting my Ancestral roots
