The land Slug is one type of a land snail. It is a shell less terrestrial gastropod mollusc. The body of slug have following structures:
Tantacles/Mantle/Tail/Keel/Foot/Vestigial shell.
The body is made up of water, small or reduced shell, soft tissues.
It comes outside during the rain or monsoon. Otherwise it hides under the bark, rocks or other wet places.
Slug excretes a mucous which helps in its walking. It is much viscous. It holding capacity of slug to the surface is very strong. It can be stable without any movement for a long time.
The main food of slug are fungi & decaying organic matter. Sometimes they can eat the other food like earthworm, own kind of dead slugs, snails or fruits etc.
A slug have male and female both sex organs like earthworm. During matting two slugs share the both gametes to each other.
