A short video of stills taken on Friday 9th November 2012 showing the short narrow gauge railway at Fort Nelson in Portsmouth, Hampshire in Southern England. It is part of a German 60 cm gauge field railway which was captured by the British army at the end of the First World War. It was installed at Fort Nelson in the late 1930's when again, war seemed imminent and preparations were being made for the defence of the south coast of England. Anti Aircraft ammunition was delivered to the main gate by lorry and then trundled by hand to the entrance of the underground magazines. The Fort is open to the public and entry is currently free.
