This tape is the original 1986 one-hour abridged recording that is no longer available. Read by the Author. When you're finished, you can listen to his 2nd delightful audiobook "It was on Fire when I lay down on it" here at Great Books on Tape.
In 1986, Robert Fulghum came out with his book of stories, both true and embellished, that became a number 1 bestseller. Titled: All I Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten, it revealed a relatable and sensible philosophy on life accumulated through many years working as a school teacher, speaker, spouse, dad, citizen, etc. It's for everyone. The titular story was taped on refrigerators and office desks across the nation. His stories have provided comfort, humor, and wisdom over the decades. I hope you enjoy them as well.

P.S. Because of the publicity from this book, he became reconnected with a daughter he and his girlfriend had given for a closed adoption back in the 1950s when being pregnant before marriage was greatly frowned upon. The adoptive parents saw this book and realized who the author was. They decided to inform their now adult daughter and she contacted him. The reunion was reported as tearful and joyful. The story can be found in full in his book and audiobook "From Beginning to End" sold online.
There is an updated retold and unabridged 25 year anniversary CD online that features many more stories and observations. To me, it wasn't as good as the original. But maybe if I had listened to that edition first I'd like it better. His books can be purchased online, at his website, and may be available at your library or used bookstore.
