Manitoba health officials updated the public with the most recent numbers on the province's COVID-19 cases and ongoing response to the pandemic on Wednesday.
Manitoba's chief provincial health officer Dr. Brett Roussin said they have recorded four new cases of COVID-19 in the last 24 hours which brings the total number of cases in the province to 221. A total of 69 people have recovered.
Officials also said of the total number of confirmed cases, 20 of those individuals are healthcare workers.
As the Easter long weekend approaches, Dr. Roussin reiterated the importance of staying home, social and physical distancing saying this was not the time to be hosting gatherings of any kind. He said while he recognizes that families want to be together, gatherings would increase the risk of the virus spreading.
