The international freestyle and freestyle wrestling competitions of the Andre Poliak Cup and the fourth ranking of the World Wrestling Union, which was considered as the last stage of the selection cycle for the national team, were held on July 13 to 16, 2023 in Budapest, Hungary, during which the selected Iranian freestyle wrestling team ended its work with a gold medal in four weights. 60 kg weight won a silver medal, Mohammad Nagousi won a 77 kg weight, and Ali Akbar Yousefi won a bronze medal in 130 kg weight.
The Iranian team, which participated in the tournament with 7 wrestlers in 6 weights, ranked third with 98 points. The teams of Azerbaijan were first and second with 140 and Hungary with 113 points.
