Dr. Harmandeep Sharma is a research assistant and professor of Crop Science with a focus on Digital Agriculture in the Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Design in the College of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences. She directs the Digital Agriculture Lab/Sensors for Sustainable and Efficient Plant Production (SENSE Lab), which is dedicated to developing optimal input management systems aimed at improving the yield and quality of specialty crops. The lab’s primary objective is to create enhanced decision-making tools for small-scale farmers by leveraging advanced digital technologies, including ground-based and aerial sensors/drones, as well as machine learning algorithms.
