"9/11 has long become an emblematic date that illustrates the major challenges facing the outset of the new century and it puts the task of battering terrorism at the top of the international agenda. We have come to understand better that neither ideological nor religious nor any other excuses or slogans can serve as a justification for extremists and fanatics to terrorise the world. The unspeakable tragedy of Beslan, the huge enormous loss of innocent life, is one that we will never forget, we will always remember the terrible agony, anguish and pain during those three endless days."
