It was while ‘working’ that I realised that the need for modular-level input to the Morphagene should be adequately met by the Model D, as it is semi-modular, has cv and gate inputs, and also high and low outputs on the rear. In the event, the high output worked splendidly, and an eight-note sequence was played into it by the York Modular Seq8.2 and then out to the Morphagene. I deliberately made it plucky as I had had good results shortening the onset time on the 0-Coast, and I wasn’t disappointed. This was just one of the dozens of ‘genes’ extracted from the whole, and most of them sounded great when morphed- some were almost bluegrass in feel.
I could probably rustle up another couple of pieces of hardware that also output at modular level, but I have a signal booster on its way from YM, so I can start to feed the Morphagene sequences from a Typhon, or sampled from my own YT output (why not? It’s the only thing on YT I can legitimately sample…). I will also be able to take ‘wet’ signals from AUM, as I can currently only import dry signals from certain hardware, and this will make more textured pieces possible. Ambient soundscapes are go! (maybe)
Like and subscribe, good people, spread the word and make the tea. Some of the countless hours of noodling around on the MG will doubtless make their way onto the channel in due course- bit I will return to other hardware too. Honest.
Thanks for watching!
