"Deliver us from evil" (Mt 6:13)
The Lord Jesus, in the last petition of the Our Father, exhorts all his disciples to continually ask the Father in Heaven to deliver us from evil.
Explaining the meaning of this last petition of the Lord's prayer, the Catechism of the Catholic Church states that “in this petition, the evil is not an abstraction, but it designates a person, Satan, the Evil One, the angel who opposes God. The “Devil” (“diabolos”) is the one who “crosses himself” in God's plan and in his “work of salvation” done in Christ ”(n. 2851). "To
ask to be released from the evil one, we also ask to be free from all evils, present, past and
future, of which he is the author and instigator ”(n. 2854).
This prayer of liberation that follows asks our Father in Heaven for deliverance from the Evil One and all the evils of which he is the author and instigator.
It can be prayed for asking God to release himself from the diabolic influx or interceding for someone else. In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
Lord Jesus, defend us in this battle, be our help against evil, and the devil's wiles.
Instantly and humbly we ask you that God over him, and you, King of kings, with that power divine precipitate hell to satan and all the evil spirits that roam the world for the destruction of
souls. Amen.

When you enter the land that the Lord your God will give you, do not learn to imitate the abominations of those nations. That there is no one in your midst who burns his son or daughter, nor does he omen oracle, divination to magic, or to practice enchantments, to interrogate spirits or diviners, or even to invoke the deads; for whoever practices these things is an abomination to the Lord, and it is because of these abominations that the Lord your God will dislodge them in your favor.
