The Latin American Coalition will celebrate 30 years of transforming lives of Latinos and immigrants through crisis intervention, cultural celebration, and advocacy.
On November 12th, 1990, ten founding members organized and led the effort to form an organization that served Latinos and immigrants by Latinos and immigrants. Originally La Coalición began as a place for the small but growing number of Latinos in the Charlotte metropolitan area to celebrate the diverse heritage of Latin American culture via the Latin American Festival. From a humble cultural festival in 1990, La Coalición has grown into an organization grounded in the development of principles, programs, and policies that serve the integration and equal participation of Latinos and new Americans. La Coalición continues its uncompromising vision to make North Carolina a state where all people can succeed
