This video was taken during our last Route 66 trip in September of 2022. This bridge is now part of a multi-million dollar reconstruction project which began shortly after we drove across it. The bridge consists of 38 connected pony truss bridges creating a massive single structure. The project began as a suggestion from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation in 1933. It was listed as the Oklahoma Federal Aid Project 164-H and was later named the William H. Murray Bridge. The total length of the bridge with it's 38 truss spans is 3,944.3 feet (1202.2 Meters). The bridge crosses over the Canadian River and it's wide mostly dry riverbed near Bridgeport, Oklahoma.
It felt like we were docking in a space station. I hope you enjoy! It was a bumpy ride.
