a Turing Machine eurorack module has become one of the mainstay tools in many modular synthesizer cases. But did you know the Ladik Composer N? Its a full-blown (almost) turing machine in just 4hp and it rocks!
If you are like me you like good things in small sizes (wait what?), meaning I have small-ish synth racks that I like to fit a lot into. And my Marbles takes up a lot of real estate in that regard, though it being a lovely module. Lately I have been having great success with the Ladik Composer N. Its a feature rich module in just 4hp and it works really well.
The Ladik Composer N is a great module to generate bass and melody lines on the fly, lock them into a loop and go to techo-town. Its also very suitable for ambient as on the low probability setting it changes slowly over time in a perfect way. The module has built in scales/quantisation, so you can use it for pitch, v/oct as well. It is also a really fun way to create random, looped modulation to animate things in your rack, such as the cv inputs on the qu-bit surface and data bender.
