The new car price is 26.895€. The Volkswagen e-up is powered by an electric engine and delivers 83HP & 212Nm of torque.

An electric car has many advantages but also disadvantages. The acceleration of the electric motor is much faster and direct compared to a petrol/diesel engine. This is because when the electric car accelerates, it uses 100% of its torque as soon as the throttle is pressed down. The disadvantage is the charging of the electric cars. If you don't have a charging station that supports high kW, you have to charge for many hours. 83 hp are perfect for the daily driver, because they are comfortable and consume not much, nevertheless they accelerate very well.

The Transmission is a 1-Speed automatic gearbox. The battery capacity is 32-kWh. The car reaches 258 kilometres. For such an small everyday car this is very good. The vehicle is powered by an front-wheel-drive System. 1248Kg is a little bit heavy for an Volkswagen up considering that a normal Volkswagen up with petrol engine wights only 991KG. But the car still accelerate pretty well. According to the factory, the VW e-up accelerates from 0-100 in 11.9 seconds, which is very impressive for 83hp, considering that the car is a little bit heavy at 1248kg. From our own experience we can confirm that the acceleration feels much faster. As with many electric cars, the cars are limited to 150 km/h. But the e-up only reaches 130km/h which is a little bit disappointing. Nevertheless it reaches its top speed pretty quick. The wind noise at higher speeds are comfortable.

The suspension of the VW e-Up is very good. At the Autobahn you do feel more of the road and the bumps and the car starts to bounce a little. But in the city the suspension very soft, so you don't feel as much of the road. The handling in curves is optimal, because you can drive even at high speeds in sharp curves without understeering or oversteering. However, the cornering position is also dependent on the weight. The steering is very accurate and direct, so you do not have to steer much. Even when braking down hard from high speeds, the car behaves quietly. The size of the vehicle is 3.6m in length and includes a width of 1.6m, which has the ideal vehicle size for daily use. This can be compared to a Fiat 500e, Opel Corsa E, Renault Twingo E or with the Renault ZOE. #vw #volkswagen
