At approximately 12:15 this morning an on duty Sherriff's deputy was contacted at the Amity Substation to report a house fire on Highway 233 outside of Amity. At the same time the Yamhill Communications Center began to receive 911 calls from the neighbors reporting a house fire.
Fire apparatus from the amity fire district, McMinnville Fire Department and Dayton Fire District were dispatched to the location. The Yamhill County Sherriff's Office was first to arrive and began evacuating the neighboring houses due to the size and location of the fire. Crews responding to the call could see a large flame and smoke plume from town and a 2nd alarm was requested to bring additional resources from our partner agencies.
Amity Fire District arrived to find a double wide and a single wide manufactured home fully involved with fire and spreading to adjacent vehicles and trees. An aggressive eternal fire attack on both homes was initiated and the fire spread was stopped. All occupants of both homes were accounted for by YCSO Deputies assisting at the fire scene.
