This video covers our cruise ride on Lake Brienz from Interlaken OST to Brienz via Iseltwald followed by a hike to Giessbach. While the frequent cruise (hourly or so) rides take you from Interlaken all the way to Brienz and back, we decided to hop off at the quiet fishing town of Iseltwald, hike along the shores of the lake to Giessbach waterfall (an 8 km hike) with wonderful views of the snow-capped peaks of Swiss Alps and Lake Brienz, a view of the cog-wheel train at Giessbach-See and a cruise ride back to Brienz.
This is a hike that we would recommend to anyone wanting to do something offbeat while at the Interlaken region away from the touristy offerings in the region.
