Political drama is peaking again in Karnataka with 11 MLAs from the ruling Congress-Janata Dal (Secular) coalition tendering their resignation. The 11 legislators planned on meeting the Speaker of the Karnataka Assembly, but since he wasn't available, they submitted their resignation to his office. Subsequently, the MLAs in question met Vajubhai Vala, the Governor of the state. The latest spate of resignations comes days after another Congress MLA, Anand Singh, quit. The drama is unfolding when Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is in the United States of America and the state Congress chief, Dinesh Gundu Rao is in Europe.
