WARREN COUNTY -- The man accused in the murders of a woman and her son indicted today (Oct. 20, 2014).
Terry Froman, 41, of Brookport, Illinois, faces five charges, including aggravated murder and kidnapping.
Froman was arrested Sept. 12 after leading police in Ohio on a short chase up I-75 north in Warren County. Police say he fatally shot 17-year-old Michael Eli Mohney in Kentucky and then abducted his mother, 34-year-old Kim Thomas. Thomas and Froman reportedly had previously dated.
Police say an Ohio State Highway Patrol trooper pulled over Froman along I-75, following a brief pursuit. Once stopped, the trooper reports hearing gunfire from within the vehicle.
Once they approached the vehicle, police say they found Thomas shot dead in the back seat and Froman injured from a gunshot wound in the driver's seat. He was hospitalized and then jailed.
Ohio prosecutors plan to seek the death penalty against Froman. Kentucky prosecutors also have charged Froman for Mohney's death, but Froman will face the Ohio charges first.
His arraignment in Warren County has been scheduled for 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 22.
