The True West is a an adventure race based on the west coast of the Southern Alps in New Zealand, Aoteoroa. The event concept and design is by 7-time adventure racing world champion, Nathan Fa'avae.
The True West moves to a new wilderness location each year. The inaugural event was held in Franz Josef Glacier, this is the film from that event. The 2023 edition will be held in Hokitika.
The event caters for all abilities, with 3-hour, 6-hour, 12-hour and 48-hour race.
