올해 아시아송 페스티벌 X 문화잇지오 행사 동시 개최...7개국 아티스트 한자리에
Turning our attention to the Asia Song Festival and Culture Bridge Festa.
To welcome people back the organizers went a step further this year by combining two festivals in celebration of Asian diversity.
Kim Jung-sil takes us there.
This year's slogan, "Open Your Asia,"... promotes artists and cultures in other Asian countries outside Korea.
For the first time, the festival organizers decided to host their annual cultural festival, the Culture Bridge Festa, at the same time as the Asia Song Festival.
So this year, visitors enjoyed music,... and had a chance to experience the cultures of Vietnam and Kazakhstan.
"The main purpose of the event is to introduce the culture of Vietnam and Kazakhstan here in South Korea without actually going there."
The organizer said as much as K-culture is known globally... through music and films... people in S. Korea don't really know much about other Asian cultures.
And added it's important to pursue cultural diversity instead of promoting K-culture unilaterally.
Here you see the staff from Vietnam promoting the country's traditional clothing, food, and drinks.
Over here in the Kazakhstan area, you can experience their traditional housing called "Yurt"... apparently, the house keeps people warm in the winter and cool in the summer.
In the evening, the song festival began, and thousands of people gathered.
“Behind me is the stage where artists from 7 Asian countries, including South Korea, Japan, Kazakhstan, and Vietnam, are set to perform.
One of the highlights of this year’s event is the debut performance of Thai girl group “RoseBerry,” who have been training in South Korea for the past 3 months.”
"We had a great chance to train under the K-pop system and we had dancing class, vocal class, and performance class and also the model class that we improve the skills that idols should have."
"Please support RoseBerry!"
Other artists from Vietnam, Kazakhstan, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Japan also came to perform.
"It's been 3 years since I last visited S. Korea so when I was invited to the Asia Song Festival, I had to come."
From the S. Korean side, rapper GRAY, Girl group OH MY GIRL, and boy group SF9 came to please the crowds.
Although the song festival closed on Friday night,... visitors can enjoy the Culture Bridge Festa until Sunday.
