Assistive technologies help over 1 billion people worldwide to overcome mobility, sight and other disabilities. WIPO's Technology Trends 2021 report found that such technologies have seen double-digit growth in recent years, with many of these innovations finding their way into mainstream products such as electronic goods and general medical technologies – yielding greater benefits for an even wider range of people.
