Following a great morning with the GWR steam locomotives, [ Ссылка ] later in the afternoon, the purple timetable switched from steam to diesel, with Brush Type 4 Fund owned 47376 ‘Freightliner 1995’ allocated to relieve 3850 for the last run from Broadway to Cheltenham Racecourse and return to Toddington.
The 47 hooked on to the rear of the 15.00 departure from Toddington, headed by 3850, before dragging the consist back to Toddington, where 3850 was uncoupled and we enjoy some diesel haulage through the Cotswolds.
The weather was on the change, with the 47 working hard through some strong winds picking up, set to bring in some bad weather over the next few days, but we had a great final run into the darkness behind the 47 bringing to a close a fantastic year of heritage action!
