We finally reached our destination and the big day! We had made this trip in order to attend (and officiate) our nephew's (and niece-in-law's) wedding. The day was chilly and rainy but none of us cared - we just enjoyed celebrating the day! The next day we headed to Seattle to continue the celebration. We took a brunch cruise, ate way too much(Old Stove Brewing, Pike Place Brewing, Biscuit Bitch), and of course visited Pike Place. Sunday morning came and it was time to go our separate ways. The bride and groom boarded a cruise headed for Alaska, the rest of the family boarded a plane, and Tim and I began our drive back East.

Our first "Overlanding" trip happened almost by accident. We had a weekend event to attend in Seattle, over 2000 miles away from our home in Indiana, and instead of flying, we decided to seize the opportunity and make it a road trip. It took some months of planning, preparing and careful budgeting to make it happen, but before we knew it, the day was here - we loaded up our truck "Heknbak" with our camping gear and rooftop tent, and we were off!
