Pickled Fish
The tradition originated in Cape Town, where spiced, vinegar-laced Cape Malay pickled fish is eaten at Easter to symbolise the vinegar given to Christ at the crucifixion.

Vinegar curry sauce ratio, 1,5 cup water to every cup of vinegar and 2 tablespoons of sugar. Apricot jam can be used as an alternative. Remember to taste as you cook to ensure balancing of flavours. Much love Ash 👩🍳
