Moving to a new country is a bold decision, but after landing, things can be overwhelming as an individual, couple or as parents. To help you get started, the Canadian government has introduced some key benefits for all new immigrants when they land in Canada as a PR.

1) Ontario Works Benefit 👔- The job market in Canada can be a little tricky. If the new immigrant finds difficulty getting survival jobs, they can avail of the services of Ontario Works that give you a specific amount to run your daily errands.
P.s: this amount stops once you have a full-time job.

2) Free Library Access 📚 - The library helps provide resources required for job search purposes and gives you free access to unlimited digital and physical resources.

3) Child Care Benefits 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 - If the new immigrants have dependent children, the family can get a specified amount based on the age of the children. (Max $685/ child).

4) Newcomer Settlement Program 📢- These services aid job search and language training.
P.s: French language training is available free of cost.

5) Furniture Bank ⛺- There are several places where you can get furniture gently used by others at no cost.

6) Ontario Students Assistance 🤝🏼 Program - If the new immigrant wishes to take up a program from one of the colleges in Ontario, then they can avail of the OSAP funding. There are two components of OSAP grants and loans. The grants are to be kept, and loans are returned gradually after completing your graduation program/course.
