Syntagma Square is the most important square of modern Athens located in the heart of Greece’s capital city, in front of the 19th-century Old Royal Palace. The name Syntagma means Constitution. The square is the place of the city’s demonstrations and it also houses concerts and festivals. Being the central square of Athens, from Syntagma Square visitors can reach the most important city attractions.
The Old Royal Palace neoclassical building is housing the Greek Parliament since 1934. The imposing building was built between 1836 and 1842 as the Royal Palace for the first king of Greece, King Otto.

The mainland has mountains, forests and lakes, the islands are more than 2,000, but only 170 are inhabited, and Peloponnese Peninsula lies at the south of the mainland.
