The Army's best of the best from units throughout Europe are battling for U.S. Army Europe Junior Officer, NCO and Soldier of the Year at the 2013 USAREUR Best Warrior Competition Aug. 19-23 in Grafenwoehr, Germany. The competition features Soldiers not only serving in USAREUR organizations, but tenant Army units in Europe such as Installation Management Command-Europe, European Regional Medical Command and Intelligence and Security Command units.

The competition challenges their military knowledge, warrior skills and endurance over five days of nearly non-stop action. In this year's competition, the competitors will move in a three-person team composed of a Soldier, NCO and officer. The teams will compete and test together, with their cooperation affecting the individual scores of team members.

Each of the winners in the Soldier and NCO category will go on to represent U.S. Army Europe at the Department of the Army level competition Oct. 15-17 at Fort Lee, Va.
