This method is applied for turning short taper threads.
Here the workpiece is a fitting part (yellow) clamped in the chuck.
The pink cutter (tap or comb-shaped tool) is set at an angle (half-angle of the cone of the taper thread to be cut).
The lead angles of the cutter thread and of the workpiece are the same but in opposite hands.
The thread profile of the cutter is not symmetrical due to the oblique position of the cutter.
