This is my totally unbiased NV200 Tekna van review.
I’ve owned this van since January 2018 and it has now done 7,500 miles.
With an average miles per gallon of 47-50 MPG carrying a full load this van is exceptional.
It’s significantly bigger than a Citroen Berlingo and has a nice high driving position.
It’s wonky downside is storage in the drivers can.
The centre console is useless and there is nowhere safe to put a big bottle of water or coke etc.
Van drivers live in their vans and it’s my only big complaint about this van.
For a 6ft 4 guy like me there’s loads of legroom and height in the cab but the mirrors don’t adjust out enough to see lane 2 fully for me with the seat right back. This will only effect tall people.
The reversing camera is all but useless in this model and no parking sensors which in a top of the range van I find perplexing.
Roadholding and drivability are excellent.
It has very good steering and gear change and it’s great in the snow.
I would definitely buy only the 110BHP version as it’s quicker and more economical! Yes it costs more but you’ll save that in the long run.
Cruise control, speed limits and air con are standard in the Tekna version that I got.
All in all a great van and a pleasure to drive!
Very economical and 5 year 100,000 mile warranty!
Update to this review. I’ve now had this van for a year and still very happy with it. I’ve thought of a couple more things that a top of the range van should have but this doesn’t. The first is an outside temperature gauge/ice warning. The second is washers on the headlights.
After using this van for a year I never use the reversing camera as it’s so small it makes it useless! Storage in the cab is my biggest complaint and that ridiculous centre console that empties under your feet every time you hit the brakes!
I’ve had no technical problems with the van which now has 40,000 miles.
This van is supposed to do 18,000 miles between services according to Nissan’s brochure. My service light comes on every 12,000 miles and has done for the first 3 services. When I queried this with a dealer and Nissan customer services they said it was due to hard driving conditions! I generally drive at 60Mph on long motorway journeys and rarely accelerate hard. I’m not happy with their explanation and I’d been keen to hear of other Nissan NV200 users experience.
