Japan is facing intense snowfall as a powerful cold wave blankets much of the country. In Fukushima Prefecture, dramatic footage captured by the Minamiaizu Tourism Association shows large chunks of snow falling from rooftops.
The Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA) reports that some northern areas of Honshu have received up to 78.7 inches of snow, while at least 7.9 inches have fallen across various regions. The heavy snowfall is attributed to a strong winter pressure pattern, prompting warnings for residents along the Sea of Japan to remain cautious and vigilant.
