Tony Schwartz produced more than 26,000+ radio spots, won every award in the books, and became known as media central in New York. A one-man band creator who threatened large corporations and institutions with his simple radio commercials.
He was one of my first mentors and I learned a great deal about how to communicate from Tony. His two books, Media: The Second God and The Responsive Chord are classics for students learning media communications and production.
In his time he worked for hundreds of organizations including the New York City Police Department and the fire department. This radio spot is a perfect example of his genius. It is so simple and yet so effective. As I said in this video, my wife and I never forgot the message after hearing it once and it helps save our home when it was about to burn in a fire which began in my studio, destroyed much of my archive, but did not destroy our home. Had she not closed the door, all would have been lost.
Tony also produced hundreds or radio and television spots for political candidates, both Republicans and Democrats. You can search his name on my YouTube channel to see examples of his work.
Whether you are beginning a career in video or filmmaking or a seasoned pro, Tony shares advice that will provoke you to be a better more effective communicator.
