Queen Trapper Festival in Stanley Mission and Sucker River March 16, 17, 18, 2012.
Tammy Cook-Searson who was raised on trapline and retains a trappers licence, has competed along with many other Northerner ladies in a number of events including: trap setting, axe throwing, log chopping,log saw split & pile, ice chiseling, log sawing, jigging, nail pounding, buckskin, portage, snow shoeing, bannock making, tea boiling, and log toss. Points from each event are accumulated for each competitor to determine Queen, second and third place overall for the festival, every point counts!
This short video follows Tammy over a two day competition in Stanley Mission and a one day event in Sucker River, where she was the Trapper Festival Queen in both Northern Saskatchewan communities.
