The New Super Mario Bros. U: Layer Cake Desert Building Set from K'NEX is a 330-piece set that builds a course, which is based on a level from the video game, New Super Mario Bros. U. The set comes with three buildable K'NEX figures of Fire Mario, Waddlewing and Pokey.

The course recreates some familiar obstacles and items from the game including the moving statue, Spinning Pokey, Pop-Up Sand Geysers, warp pipe and a pop-up goal flag at the end. There are also coins scattered along the course and a Fire Flower.
