Lake Kissimmee State Park Florida Campground Review - Lake Kissimmee State Park is a beautiful place to camp, but is it worth the price? In this video, we take a look at all the pros and cons of camping here to help you decide if it's the right spot for you.

Welcome to Lake Kissimmee State Park. This place is a magical natural wonderland. It’s a bit off the beaten path, but it’s worth it. In fact, after one month of full-time rv travel, lake Kissimmee State Park is my favorite campsite!

The trees, plants, wildlife, and large campsites that offer so much privacy are incredible. This is unlike the RV parks where we were on top of each other. No, here, you're surrounded by nature and wildlife instead of being surrounded by people!

Check out our campsite. So spacious…. And check out how much nature we had behind us! No rear neighbors, just lots of wildlife.

Lake Kissimmee State Park has something for every visitor, including access to Florida’s third-largest lake, shaded camping and picnic facilities, excellent wildlife viewing opportunities, and beautiful nature trails for hiking, biking, and even horseback riding.

Now, right as we entered the park we saw whitetail deer. In fact, they come right to your campsite! The deer aren’t scared at all. I was working on editing videos, and a deer snuck right behind me. Of course, Benny started barking, but the deer didn’t leave. He snuck around for a delicious carrot snack.

The deer are all over this Florida State Park campground.

We had several deer and an armadillo visit us.

Now, this is camping!

And after spending 5 nights on the space coast, I appreciated the fresh air of nature and the peace and quiet.

We only stayed here two nights as it’s usually fully booked – even getting in for two nights was a blessing. It costs $20/night to camp in Florida’s state parks.

Again, the campground is so spacious without each RV being right on top of the other.

Visitors can enjoy boating, canoeing, kayaking, touring, and fishing, but no swimming as of course there are gators in these waters.

The park ranger was extremely helpful and friendly. He delivered us firewood and made us feel right at home.

While there is no sewer hookup or wifi, we did have cell reception. There were also a few laundry machines and spotless bathrooms. Plus, we got to hike! There are so many trails.

We took off on a 4 km hike, that sadly ended early as the land was flooded. In fact, the entire campground was flooded just a few weeks before our arrival due to Hurricane Ian.

Lucia loved the campground. I couldn’t get over how the trees grow in any direction, and how green it is! Vines are growing off so many branches, like nothing I've ever seen before. Just exceptional green beauty.

There are areas for group BBQs with shelters, lots of parking for day-use picnics, and of course, a marina for fishing boats. Definitely no beach or swimming here.

Our stay at Lake Kissimmee State Park gets a perfect 5-star review. We highly recommend camping here for as long as you can! In our case, 2 nights is probably good because otherwise, we’d have to disconnect to dump our black tank.
