Pentagon officials confirm the leader of ISIS was among those killed during a counter-terrorism raid by U.S. special forces overnight in Syria’s northwestern Idlib province.
Following reports women and children were among those killed in the raid, Pentagon officials said ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi detonated an explosive device after U.S. troops called for him to surrender, killing himself and his wife and children.
