„Someone has to do something and that someone cannot always be someone else!“
Set in Helsinki, Tellus is a thriller about a group of five young women and men who are calling themselves Tellus. They have, over the past four years, successfully executed several ecomotivated attacks on society. The Tellusians success follows from their ability to stay underground and live double life. Their goal is to save the Earth, but they are slowly realizing that their operations do not have the longterm effect they desire.
Eevi, 23, a lone wolf, studying to become a medical doctor, is one of the group’s leaders. She falls into a personal crisis when Tellus in another operation accidentally kills a civilian. Eevi must decide whether to continue with Tellus or leave it – or take Tellus to the next level: instead of avoiding casualties, go for them, target people responsible for harming the Earth, and kill them.
Part of Eevi’s crisis is falling in love. She meets and cannot resist the magnetism of Alex, 26. He is an eco-activist, with the same goals as Eevi, but operating by the law. Alex is also one of the usual suspects for the police, who have not been able to get any true leads to solve the carefully planned and executed crime-series. Eevi should avoid Alex to protect Tellus, but the love is too strong.
Taneli, 55, works for the security police and has been investigating Tellus for four years, with no success. After recovering from a mild brain stroke he returns to work the same day when Tellus accidentally kills. And now the pressure is really on, now he is hunting killers. Taneli believes that at some point Tellus will make a mistake which eventually will lead him to them. And finally they do. And when they do, Taneli will have to take his stand: in this case, does the end justify the means?
